In agreement with my dear Deviant pal =
KabukiKatze, I shall spread the meme, and help show off her shiny new avatar. Fancy.

The first 15 people to comment to this entry will receive a journal feature. I'll pick 3-5 of my favorite pieces from your gallery and write a little something nice about you.
If you feel so compelled, you can spread this meme in your own journal.
So leave a comment and I'll feature your work!
And you can do likewise if you wish.

First.

KabukiKatze Is a singularly unique and arresting presence in an artistic sphere of brilliantly shining stars. A peerless artist with both traditional instruments and with the digital medium, this cunning gal has a marvelously keen eye for color, body shape and posturing of her human subjects, but perhaps most palpable is her ability to create a textural reality in her pieces. Most other artists have an airy feel to their work. Kabu's pieces have a weight and presence that give even her quickest sketches an un-ignorable reality.

BambooGecko Where do I begin with this chick?

The term 'Individualist' doesn't quite seem to apply. Possessed of an inquisitive and jovial nature and a real treat to have as a friend and commentator, this young lady, almost incidentally, is a shiningly gifted artist. Her skills with coloring and shading are quite impeccable, and she unhesitatingly and unashamedly glorifies whatever subject her fancy dictates with her artistry so attractively, that her vibrant personality and ever-improving skills make her a force impossible to ignore.

KissofCrimson Is a young woman I discovered recently on DA, much to my delight.

Rarely have I encountered someone who has, either through accrued wisdom or experimentation discovered one of the more subtle tenants of the art of photography. The best photographer is fully-aware, visually, of their surroundings at all times. The photographer can instantly pick out a photo-worthy subject amid a seemingly mundane backdrop and shift from broad-range periphery to mono-focus. Her gallery is full of examples of how there is beauty all around us, if you know how to look for it. (And I also love her because she shares my belief that Esmeralda is the most rocking pot of sexiness to ever be birthed by the Disney animation studios. Sorry, Cinderella! Maybe next time!

BrandonSPilcher is a California-dwelling Deviant with a scholarrly interest in subjects such as history, biology, geography and ancient civilizations. So, needless to say, he's a gentleman after my own heart. He's even schooled me a few times and put me in my place.

With a white-hot devotion to his pet subjects, he presents those things near and dear to him with an infectious perspicacity and eloquence. His expertise in the cultural and military history of Africa and the middle east are staggeringly impressive to say the least... Plus, you've got to love this guy. Because lets face it, Dinosaurs are badass!

Thewhiningrhino An all-around multi-facetted gentleman, jumping into the melee of DeviantArt with all guns blazing, literary, photographic and even in a number of traditional mediums. A young up-in-comer, I have to root for this fellow as he's an avid zoo photographer and, not entirely unlike myself, is cautiously optimistic about the existence of bigfoot... Come on... A gigantic species of primate of our very own right here in North America? How cool would that be?

Rock on, sir!

iamfergie... Oh, I had so, SO hoped you'd comment.

Perhaps one of my very favorite Deviants, this lady shares my love of green coastlines shrouded in myst and rain, which seems to be an ideal breeding ground for creativity, IMHO. This girl not only moonlights as a semi-professional singer (seriously
[link] ) But has quite a dab hand across both the mediums of photography and the realm of drawing, the latter of which she is possessed of a grace and fluidity in her subjects that adds a warmth and character to every piece she creates. A Jill-of-all-trades, perhaps more thoroughly than any other person I've encountered in the digital halls of DA, Fergie is made of redheaded awesome.

Flatographer Is a gentleman from my former home State of Florida, one of my more recent DA pals and is someone I'm quite grateful to have discovered. With the cerebral air of a warrior poet, he carries his camera around the Sunshine State and brings back for us, brilliant visions of nature and the contrivances of man. One of my hobbies when I resided there myself.

But perhaps most stellar of all, my new friend is quite an accomplished model photographer. His seamless ease with the camrea lens is a most effective tool in capturing the many facets of feminine beauty. Good on you, sir!

EricIdleWild is a fangirl... Of what, you might ask? Well, of a great many things. Of Environmental Science, Dr. Who, and so on. But perhaps most pronounced of her repertoire of things that make her "Squee," she has a fancy for the craft of comedy and a select few practitioners who are particularly skilled at the craft. And it's hardly a coincidence that we have similar opinions as to who constitute the upper recesses of the hierarchy of comedy land.

Little Gray Manatee
On a warm summer's day
In the middle of June
The ocean is calm
As the sun says it's noon
The waves are peaceful
Licking the shore
And a salty breeze blows
As crying seagulls soar
Beneath the water's helmet
Life is abundant
With colors so beautiful
And not one redundant
Eating the seaweed
From the ocean's floor
A little gray manatee
Resides with many more
A breath is needed
So she rises to the surface
And takes a big gulp
Expanding lungs fulfilling their purpose
But suddenly the silence is broken!
A roaring motor is heard
A great boat whips into view
And the little gray manatee panics a silent word
She takes off in a da

Eisenmann87 is one talented gentleman photographer, in every conceivable dimension of the word. This is a Deviant who knows what he likes and won't remained satisfied until he's explored every possible facet of it with all his senses and intuition. Like me, he's no stranger to wandering around zoos with a camera, trying to coax relatable emotions out of our non-verbal, animal kin. So, each and all of you reading this, go forth to this German gentleman's gallery and check out his many awesome pictures of anteaters... Among other things.

nomyai Is a gentleman contented in his distinct place here on DA. Whereas most here with literary aspirations are content to merely emulate the stories they're familiar with and confine themselves to the realm of fanfic, this gent actually branches out and writes stories all his own, about a world of sapient animals. Filled with humanatarian alagories, redemption and compassion, the stories actually aren't half bad. If you get a chance, check them out.

2 Sides to A Story - RJ 1-9INTRODUCTION - THE INCIDENT
Hello Torvac,
How is my favorite Panda? I must apologize; its been way too long since last I wrote to you. I can hear you now, wondering just what this is all about. Your worst pupil, writing for advice? Actually, I am.
I did something incredibly stupid yesterday; I walked into Frejas room without knocking first. I know; I know, at half a ton Im not silent when I walk, especially on stone tiles, my claws make a terrible racket. How could she not have heard me? That was stupid of me to say, of course she heard me, she didnt expect me to just walk in. She was half-dressed, which didnt

Dakotaa This young lady is one of my favorites, I mean my absolute, absolute favorites of the artist friends I've made in my DA career. The unabashed skill and unbridled life imbued in her pieces belies her age. For someone so young, her talent is truly and brilliantly remarkable. Endlessly friendly and vibrant, Maddi is even kindhearted enough to put up with my shenanigans. No easy task. This brilliant young talent has nothing, I'm sure, but a long and prosperous future to look forward to if she decides to market her considerable talents into a career.

simplemanAT Is a gentleman who I've met very, very recently here on DA. And to be perfectly honest, I don't know too much about him. But, in the interest of fairness and to at least have something to say about the gent, I'm going to copy and paste what my dear friend =
KabukiKatze put in her journal. I hope neither he nor she minds.

simplemanAT has a wide and varied gallery from photography to fanart, but I think he truly shines when it comes to tattoo design. Of course that doesn't mean that he can't draw a mean babe, because boy can he ever!"

tr1ff1d Is an exceedingly talented young lady who hails from the Jolly Olde United Kingdom. This really is an example of artistry and talent that touches on something more profound than the medium it is usually associated as being limited to. Apart from looking photo-real, her portraits have a radiance and luminous quality that really brings out not only the human element of her subjects, but something more than can be described even with my perspicacity. Go check this talented lady out! You'll be glad you did!

Hawnte, Well, as to this talented young Canadian lass, I'm afraid I literally just met her today, and I'm afraid I don't have too much to say about her or her arresting artwork... But hey, she left a comment in my journal. And rules are rules!

29cfrun Is a talented young photographer who hails from the fine Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This gentleman has the kind of innovation and photographic creativity that is easy on the eye and is genuinely a joy to behold. Truly versatile and skilled, beholding this gent's work is nary a disappointment!

And there's some real talent here!
You're entirely too kind!
Oh, and since you commented in my journal, you get a feature!
Thank-you, but you didn't have to do that.
