Well, my friend :iconcateyedgecko: requested an "Encore" of whale shots and... well, here's another one. :D

A baby humpback whale, little more than a year old in Stellwagon Bank, off of Provincetown, Cape Cod Massachusetts.
The son of famed wale Cajun

This little fellow made the trek with his mom along the east coast of the United States from the Caribbean waters from where he was born. If he's lucky, he'll make the trip up to 70 more times.

Humpback Whales are perhaps most famous for the breeching action this little tyke is portraying here.
Whalers used to call this species "The Merry Whale," for it's acrobatics.
Even the whale's scientific name; "Megaptera novaeangliae" meaning "Long-winged New Englander" has a festive sound to it.

Beautiful shot! I love how the water is trailing off his flipper and he looks like he's having so much fun. ^^

What a fantastic shot! The way the flippers are posed, it looks as if this young'un is doing a bit of ballet!

Well thank you very much. :)

And he might be doing a dance for that matter. They are "The merry whale" after all. :XD:

This is definitely a beautiful shot of the little one! (Not so little, since he is so big, even for a calf!)

Anyway, I would very much like to invite you to join the two groups that I founded: CetaceansFromTheSea and SaveWildCetaceans. I would very much look forward to your sharing your interesting cetacean shots with us. I submitted this to both groups, and it will be waiting for your approval. I will look forward to hearing from you!
